Mallika Sherawat,'s take on women

The Bollywood actress who has been hanging around on the periphery of Hollywood for the last year is clear about not wanting to spend time with her female colleagues.

She had issues about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being a part of the same world tour as she, she has issues spending time with Kangna Ranaut on the sets of Dhamaal 2. However, when it comes to giving interviews Mallika prefers the female media persons to the men.

A source says that the sex siren was reportedly heard saying that men continue to talk to her breasts. And that they invariably misquote her because they're looking only for flip quotes. Mallika however feels that the women who have interviewed her are more responsible with their reporting.

Saif Ali Khan on the Set of 'Agent Vinod'

After working with Kareena Kapoor in Kurbaan, Saif Ali Khan is yet again hooking up with his on-and-off- screen girlfriend in his new movie Agent Vinod.

And as if that wasn't cool enough, the actress will portray an undercover agent! Directed by Sriram Raghvan, the spy movie will star Bebo and Saif as two spies.

Sounds like a Bollywood remake of the Hollywood spy flick Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? Or is it just another Kurbaan scenario? Kareena is set to play a Pakistani CIA agent and Saif her complete opposite.

The happy pair will face off in a war scenario and Bebo will apparently get quite a few dress changes as well as complete makeovers with prosthetics. Are you looking forward to seeing Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor play secret agents in Agent Vinod or does the thought of it make you bored?

Kareena-Saif leave for an eco-friendly trip to Switzerland

Kareena Kapoor loves being eco-friendly. She left last night for Switzerland on a 10-day trip with beau Saif Ali Khan.
The couple will be staying at a chalet-hut owned by the Gstaad Palace which runs on solar energy. Says a source, "Bebo and Saif believe in preserving the eco-system in their own way. Last year, she had promoted eco-friendly handbags. Every year, they re-cycle their fir trees during Christmas.
This year, Kareena and Saif will be staying for a few days at the Gstaad Palace in Switzerland and then shift to a wooden hut (the Walig Hut) built like a small 18th century chalet at 5000 feet above sea level.
The 300-year old hut has been carefully restored with basic plumbing and solar-powered electric lighting. Saif loves skiing, so every year the couple have been spending their New Year's on the Swiss Alps."
The chalet-hut is very expensive costing over £1,000 per night for two adults. This includes a sumptuous three-course meal with wine and champagne.
The hut's back-to-nature experience is an attraction to people who normally live their lives in comfort.
The couple will initially spend a few days at the Tower Suite in the Gstaad Palace. "The Gstaad Palace offers a breathtaking view of the majestic Swiss Alps and is one of Saif's favorite hotels.
A wide variety of activities such as golf, skiing, hot-air-ballooning et al are available near the hotel."
Built in 1913, the Gstaad Palace is set on a hill overlooking the beautiful town it is named after. The tastefully decorated 104 rooms include  29 junior suites, and the luxurious and sophisticated three-bedroom Penthouse Suite. The Palace offers gourmet dining in five different restaurants, live entertainment in two bars, and dancing at the famous GreenGo nightclub.

Before leaving for Switzerland, Kareena took an entire day off from work and spent it with her dad Randhir Kapoor. A source close to the actress says, "Kareena has been constantly shooting for her films and ads and hardly had any time to spend with her father. Incidentally, he too was holidaying in the USA. They met up for lunch yesterday and spent the whole day together catching up."

Cameron Diaz date with Amitabh Bachchan at IIFA gala

Is Cameron Diaz set for a brush with Bollywood? It's believed that the Hollywood hottie might hobnob with B- Town stars, including Amitabh Bachchan at the IIFA awards gala scheduled to be held in June 2011 in Toronto.

Diaz is expected to be part of a Hollywood entourage being invited to participate.

The organisers say they have spoken to Diaz but remain noncommittal about confirming her participation. " It's too early to talk about the details. We won't divulge anything until the right time," says Sabbas Joseph, director of Wizcraft, organisers of the IIFA awards. Joseph also refuses to verify if Bachchan will be participating as the brand ambassador of the awards as he did till 2009.

Last year, the Bachchans gave the IIFA Awards, held at Colombo, a miss after certain Tamil groups demanded that all Indian filmstars should boycott the event because it was being hosted in Sri Lanka, where Tamils have been persecuted over the years.

Despite attempts, the Big B remained unavailable for comment.

Reports, however, are rife that since the event is being held in Toronto in 2011, several Hollywood stars will be invited and that Diaz has already confirmed participation.

Diaz apart, Rob Schneider, John Schneider and Tom Green are among the Hollywood celebrities expected to attend the event owing to their collaboration with an Indian film production company, True Cinema. Reports are rife that all these stars could be in India in January to announce their collaborative venture.

In fact, writer- director Sudipto Sen, who heads True Cinema, has stated that Diaz among others " is expected to be part of two annual Bollywood awards". It was also suggested that the actress will play the lead in a crossover romance with a top Bollywood actor - reportedly Hrithik Roshan.

Also, Hollywood star Russell Crowe is expected to play the lead a film, Amrit Kumbh , being produced in collaboration with True Cinema and a Hollywood film production house. Sen added that Crowe is expected to visit India later in 2011.

Another Hollywood actress, Drew Barrymore, might also be headed to Toronto to attend global award function.

Diaz has already struck a Bollywood connection, albeit in an indirect way. Karan Johar's upcoming production venture, Stand By Me , is believed to be inspired by her 2008 romantic comedy hit, What Happens In Vegas . Karan's film, being shot currently in Las Vegas, features Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the roles played by Ashton Kutcher and Diaz, respectively.

It remains to be seen if Diaz indeed joins the Bollywood glitterati at IIFA Toronto.

The initial years of IIFA saw Angelina Jolie, Kylie Minogue, Jean Claude Van Damme and Jackie Chan attend the gala. Peter Andre attended the 2009 IIFA awards.

Don 2: The Chase Continues, Double Dhamaal and Murder 2 will release in 2011

2011 will see sequels and remakes of popular films, multi-starrers and first-time jodis light up the screen. Rinky Kumar gives you a lowdown.

Bollywood is making the most of sequels. Though this trend has been quite rampant in Hollywood, of late even the Hindi film industry seems to be capitalising on it.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Phoonk 2 and Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 3 hit the screens in 2010. While Phoonk 2 sank without a trace, as expected, Golmaal 3 was a box-office hit with the makers laughing all the way to the bank.

Little wonder then that makers have found a new formula. The moment a film is a hit it becomes a franchise with sequels being announced. Scripts are written and actors are being finalised for the sequels of Dabangg, Race, Dostana, Dhoom, Partner and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.

2011 will see three sequels — Don 2: The Chase Continues, Double Dhamaal and Murder 2. After Dil Chahta Hai and Lakshya, the versatile Farhan Akhtar is directing Don 2: The Chase Continues, a sequel to his 2006 film Don: The Chase Begins. While Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Om Puri reprise their roles in this sequel, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor are the new additions. Hrithik Roshan in a cameo will be the surprise factor of the film. The actor will be seen as a stylish character with interesting shades. While a major portion of the 2006 film (that was a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don) was shot in Malaysia, the sequel has been filmed in Germany. Don: The Chase Begins had grossed Rs 30 crore, it remains to be seen if Don 2: The Chase Continues will be a bigger hit.

Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor will be in a remake of The Bodyguard

Bollywood has been greatly ‘inspired’ by regional and Hollywood films. Remakes of popular South Indian films like Ghajini and Wanted have broken box-office records, while desi movies like Chori Chori, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha and Partner inspired from Hollywood flicks, have entertained us.

2010 saw Karan Johar producing We Are Family, the official remake of the Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts starrer Stepmom.

In 2011, movie buffs can expect six films that are remakes of South Indian, Marathi and Hollywood flicks.

Salman Khan will be seen in three of them. He is paired opposite Asin in Anees Bazmee’s Ready, a remake of the 2008 Telugu film of the same name. He will shed his image of an action star and play a distraught father in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Hindi remake of Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho and will romance Kareena Kapoor in Bodyguard, a remake of a Malayalam comedy film by the same name.

Salman khan gets advance birth day gift from Katrina Kaif,

Now this is news! When everybody is speculating whether there is a strain in the friendship between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif especially after it was reported that the macho Bollywood actor's digs about Ranbir Kapoor did not go down too well with Kat, TOI spotted Sallu's ex-flame paying him a visit on Saturday night.

Kat drove into Salman's Galaxy pad in Bandstand (Bandra) late evening and even stayed there for at least one-and-a-half hours bonding with him as well as his family members. We hear that she was there to wish him in advance for his brithday. Family sources tell us that Salman was very friendly with Kat and vice versa and they had a blast chatting up after ages as both were busy with their respective shooting commitments. "Kat had some food at Salman's pad and caught up on some hearty conversation.

By the way they were interacting with each other, nothing seems to be wrong between the relationship that they have been sharing. Kat continues to be close to the entire Khan family and considers Salman to be her advisor and, most importantly, a very close friend. Salman, too, is quite fond of her. They hugged each other and spent at least one hour with just each other." What's also interesting is that Salman even escorted Kat all the way to her car when she was leaving and waited at the door waving to her till her car zoomed away.
