Helen Mirren's secret weapon is stripper heels

Academy award winning actress Helen Mirren has maintained her sex symbol tag over the decades and she says that her secret is stripper heels.

The 65-year-old, who was photographed looking toned in a bikini recently, said that she loves wearing six-inch platform heels, reported Daily Mail online.

"They give you great height and make your legs look unbelievably long. I used only to be able to get them in stripper shops, but now you can buy them everywhere, although, unfortunately, that means everyone else has discovered the trick too," said the actress.

The Queen star claims that despite being happy to strip off for a variety of roles over the years, even she has her body hang-ups.

"Bits of my body are all right, but bits of me are horrible. To be honest, anything from the waist down I dont really like," she said.

The actress also revealed that she has cut and dyed her trademark platinum blonde bob herself in her bathroom since the 1980s.

Teri Hatcher slices off her eyelashes with razor

In a grooming session that went awry, Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher accidentally sliced off her eyelashes. Teri was cleaning up her eyebrows the night before she was to take part in the recent Nautica Malibu Triathlon in California, but the blade slipped and sliced through half of her lashes.

She also admitted that she was tired while cleaning up and felt lucky that she didn't hurt her eye. "I had one of those mini razors and so I (placed it on my brow) and in this millisecond I heard this sound, and I''d shaved off half of my eyelashes!" the Daily Star quoted Hatcher as saying.

For the time being, she has glued on fake lashes to avoid looking foolish while stepping out for swimming, biking and running the following day. During an appearance on U.S. daytime talk show 'The View', the actress showed her lashes and exclaimed, "So these are all fake!" she added.

Akshay Kumar to romance Sonakshi Sinha

Akshay Kumar may score another goal. He is likely to romance Bollywood's youngest and hottest chick Sonakshi Sinha in Shirish Kunder's Joker.

Sonakshi's stock is on the rise post Dabangg. She will be seen in Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick opposite Salman Khan again, and is in talks with Ramesh Taurani for Race-2 with Saif Ali Khan. The film also has Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.

It is now known that Shirish and Farah Khan are keen to have Sonakshi in their film Joker. A trade consultant says, "Sonakshi has principally agreed to be in the film. But they are still working on details like the price and the dates." In the meantime, Deepika Padukone is annoyed that certain media reports have said that she is in Joker. A source close to Deepika says, "Deepika hasn't even been approached for Joker. It isn't as if she isn't keen to work with Akshay, Farah and Shirish. But she is disturbed by reports because none of them have approached her. So the question of accepting or rejecting the film doesn't even arise."

Amitabh Bachchan likes Munni

Shahrukh Khan's RA.One goes international

Shah Rukh Khan has apparently roped in Hans Zimmer of The Dark Knight and The Lion King fame, to compose music for his home production.

Though known to be a perfectionist even otherwise, King Khan it seems wants to put all his energies in making his production RA.One, an international success.

Not too long ago, Shah Rukh Khan signed the pop icon Akon to sing one of the songs in the film. And now, the grapevine has it that SRK has signed German composer Hans Zimmer to work on the background score of the film. And if all goes well, this will be the first time Hans will be composing music for a Bollywood movie.

Hans Zimmer is recognised as one of Hollywood's most innovative musical talents for having worked on super hits like The Lion King, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Pirates of The Caribbean series, The Da Vinci Code, The Dark Knight, Sherlock Holmes and even the much-talked-abut Inception.

A source from the unit reveals, "Shah Rukh has roped in a lot of foreign technicians for his sci-fi flick.

He wants the film to be of international standards. It was his director Anubhav Sinha who suggested Hans Zimmer's name for the background score.

Anubhav took the help of his contacts to arrange for a meeting between Hans and SRK. With time, Hans agreed to come on board."

Apparently, Hans has refused several Bollywood offers in the past and this time, he has agreed to make an exception for Shah Rukh's film RA.One.

You wonder if King Khan's charms won the day.

Well surely, but the buzz is that Hans has been paid a whopping 2 crore just to compose the background music for the film.

For now, Shah Rukh and Anubhav Sinha remained unavailable for comment.

Leonardo DiCaprio to help save Indian tiger

NEW DELHI -- Leonardo DiCaprio will lend his star power to raise awareness about India's efforts to save the tiger.

DiCaprio -- who is also an ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund -- recently met India's environment minister Jairam Ramesh in New York at a reception organized by the Coalition of Rainforest Nations, according to local media reports Saturday. Ramesh was quoted stating that the 35-year-old Hollywood star was “very interested in the cause of tiger conservation. Somebody like him could play an important role in sensitizing the global community to the cause of the Indian tiger.”

“Tigers are endangered and critical to some of the world's most important ecosystems,” DiCaprio had said in a public message released by WWF in May, adding, “Key conservation efforts can save the tiger species from extinction, protect some of the planet's last wild habitats and help sustain the local communities surrounding them. By protecting this iconic species, we can save so much more.”

India is home to an estimated 1,400 of the global tiger population of 3,200.

DiCaprio has also been invited to India, according to Coalition for Rainforest Nations executive director Kevin Conrad, who said, “Leonardo has now started traveling around the world looking at tigers, trying to assess the role of climate change on tiger habitats. We are inviting him to India. We want to get him to India and working with India on the issue of climate, forests and habitats.”

A keen environmentalist, DiCaprio is also involved with Papua New Guinea's campaign to raise awareness about the impact of climate change on that country's forests.

Meanwhile, top Indian celebrities are also associated with tiger conservation. Leading broadcaster New Delhi Television launched its Save The Tiger campaign last year supported by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Irrfan Khan was shy in intimate scenes: Divya Dutt

Bollywood actress Divya Dutta, who made a mark with her performances in 'Veer Zara' and 'Delhi 6', is all excited that her first Hollywood venture 'Hisss' is releasing next month.

"I am excited that my first Hollywood film 'Hisss' is releasing on October 15. I play Irrfan Khan's wife, a sensitive woman. It is the most beautiful husband-wife relationship shown on screen," Divya told media

This is the first time the actress has shared screen space with the intense actor and she found him shy while filming romantic scenes.

"Having him as a co-star was a blessing for me. We had a blast shooting for the film. Interestingly, he was more shy than me in the intimate scenes," Divya said.

'Hisss', directed by Jennifer Lynch, has Mallika Sherawat playing the lead of a snake-woman. The film has already created a buzz and was unveiled at this year's Cannes
film fest.

After 'Hisss', Divya is awaiting the release of her crossover movie 'Heartland' directed by Fred Holmes where she plays a Punjabi girl.

"It is a light comedy. We have completed shooting and the film should be releasing early next year," she said.

Divya's latest release 'Life Express' has her playing a rural woman who agrees to become a surrogate mother for a city couple in exchange for money.

"It is a realistic film and I have an endearing role of a woman from the village, who changes the city-bred woman's outlook towards life. It shows how the two women from
different backgrounds bond with each other," said the actress.

The actress has carved a niche for herself both in commercial and parallel films and Divya says she is glad she fits into both genres.

"I enjoy working in both genres as I don't want to be repetitive. Right from playing a simple rural woman in 'Life Express' to being a journalist in Amol Gupte's next, I want to
try my hand at everything," said Divya.

She played a short but humourous role in Shyam Benegal's satire 'Welcome To Sajjanpur' and Divya thinks she should be a part of all the veteran director's films.

"I missed working in 'Well Done Abba' because I was out on a long outdoor, otherwise I think I should be a part of all of his films. He is my favourite director," she said.

But the actress has no scope to complain as her hands are full with a number of films. Besides 'Stanley Ka Dabba' with Amol Gupte, she is slated to work with Sanjay Leela
Bhansali and Sudhir Mishra.

"I am also working with Rani Mukherji's brother Raja in his directorial 'Life Ise Gale Laga Le'," said Divya.
