Pregnancy rumours hit Aishwarya in Dubai

Rumours related to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have again started making the rounds. The rumours, this time, are related to her pregnancy not in India but in Dubai.

But rumours have become such a routine affair for Ash that she does not even clarify them. We presume that she chooses to laugh it off.

Ash had some interviews scheduled in Dubai, but they were cancelled at the last moment leading to speculation among the small community of Indian journalists in the Middle East.

"Unless it is a case of dodgy Indian curries that is slowly but surely emanating, the rumour mills are grinding to grist the possibility of a classic Ash diva tantrum because she is pregnant," quoted the local newspaper in Dubai.

Sources had informed the newspaper that Ash was not well and hence had cancelled the said interviews. This is not the first time that the buzz about her pregnancy hasreached us.

Had we believed in all these gossips Ash and Abhishek should have had a few babies by now. We guess we should leave the couple alone and give them the benefit of doubt and the honour to make the announcement themselves.

After all, their marriage was the biggest ever in Bollywood and when the Bachchans will confirm any such news it would surely be the biggest one, too.

I'm far more comfortable in Tamil now: Aishwarya Rai

After doing her fourth Tamil film, Endhiran, Aishwarya Rai claims to be far more comfortable working in the southern language. She also feels it is the kind of entertainer most leading actresses do though she hasn't done too many of them.

"I am definitely far more comfortable and more confident working in the language. I won't risk breaking into a conversation because I don't do that on a daily basis," said Aishwarya in an interview.

"Probably because I have travelled so much, I am familiar with the language. It falls easy on the ear. I understand it, but I respect the language; so I don't want to break into a conversation in it, unless it's a group which is very forgiving on grammatical errors!"

"You learn dialogues, they are constructed sentences already, but I am far more confident today than I was during Iruvar or Jeans. Today I am far more at ease working in Tamil," said Aishwarya. She has also done the bilingual Raavan.

Filmmaker S Shankar made his latest, a sci-fi flick, in two languages - Endhiran in Tamil and Robot in Hindi - and released them simultaneously Oct 1. Made at a whopping budget of Rs 175 crore ($38 million), it's the costliest Indian film ever.

Aishwarya maintains that her character was easy to essay and she has rarely done films in the typical entertainment genre, unlike many leading heroines.

"The character was not difficult to get into the skin of. It's a kind of role that any leading heroine would do. Probably the kind of roles that a lot of leading heroines do in their career, in my case it has been rare.

"I have not done this kind of character very often in a typical entertaining genre, the kind of character a leading heroine would get.

"He (Shankar) has a made an entertaining film. He has taken entertainment to the next level and has introduced something technically much ahead of what we have seen in recent times. So for me to go on set, it was more exciting to see the film come together. In terms of my contribution, I was just happy to work in this film," said Aishwarya.

This was her second film with Shankar after Jeans in 1998.

Asked what changes she noticed in Shankar as a director, she said: "I think now I know him better. Jeans so early in my career, unlike any newcomers, I was associated with multiple projects at the very first year of my career.

"I was constantly experiencing a different set ambience and a different film I was working in. So, that time we were discovering each other. For me films were new, the technical aspect of films was new and I was working in Tamil. From then till today, we know each other much better."

Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikanth both have a tsunami of fan followers all over the globe and it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Endhiran has created a record that no Indian film has, hitherto, done before.
The advance booking for the film commenced at a theatre called Jackson Heights in New York and astonishingly within 10 minutes all the tickets were sold. Thus, Endhiran has earned itself a coveted distinction of becoming the 1st Indian film to have sold out its entire advance booking tickets within 10 minutes.
The film shall open worldwide on 1st October and is also the most expensive film ever made in India. The story highly depends on technology and huge amount has been invested in gadgets and techniques. It’s only to be speculated how well the film does at the box office

Aishwarya Rai's and Kate Winslet's Longines Commercial

We showed you the pics of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kate Winslet shooting their Longines commercial in Rome, Italy in July, but what we thought would be an action-filled and dramatic TV ad turned out to be quite a lame clip!

Apart from the bad acting and the poor directing, the clip is also cliché and pretty uninteresting. The Bollywood belle and the Hollywood big shot teamed up to shoot the Longines commercial in Italy, and fans crowded the streets to see the two leading ladies get into action as the cameras started to roll on the streets of Rome.

The B-town royalty and Oscar winning actress sure set the stage for a true Bollywood/Hollywood hook up; both actresses looked stunning as they got ready for their close-ups and judging by the pics from the set, the Longines commercial looked very entertaining! We are not used to seeing Ash in action roles, while British actress Kate Winslet has starred in a few thrillers. And it looks like both Ash and Kate worked up quite a sweat on the set!

But the final product is rather disappointing. Longines sure knows how to get everyone's head turning as  the international cosmetic brand decided to go for a fusion of two beauties, but unfortunately their on-screen chemistry was not what we thought it would be. What sounded like the Bollywood/Hollywood hook up of the year is just another typical commercial filled with bad acting and unconvincing voiceovers, not to mention the lack of humor and wit.

Maybe the two actresses are so busy with their respective careers that they didn't bother to make an effort for Longines' cameras? Ash can soon be seen in Action Replayy alongside Akshay Kumar, while Kate Winslet, will star in two Hollywood productions; Susanne Bier's romantic flick Which Brings Me to You with Bradley Cooper, as well as Steven Soderbergh's action thriller Contagion with Matt Damon.

Check out Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's and Kate Winslet's new commercial for Longines and let us know what you think; are you impressed?

Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar Retro Poses on Action Replayy

We already showed you the first poster for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's and Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie Action Replayy and now more posters are out! Akshay took to Twitter to share the new pics and asked fans to comment, so take a look at them and share your thoughts!

Aishwarya and Akshay have had lots of fun on the set of their new movie Action Replayy. From disco dancers to fun loving hippies, the cute Jodi has tried on several different looks for Vipul Shah's new flick.

Action Replayy is based on a 1994 Gujarati play and tells the story of a man who travels back in time to the 70s when he was young and handsome. Kishen and Mala are constantly fighting but they manage to rekindle their love on their 33rd wedding anniversary.

"Akki and I have an impeccable box office record. For me it was an exciting experience because I could bring together Aishwarya and Akshay, a pair I had been wanting to cast for some time now. They're both good looking, super-talented and what's more, they're fashion icons as well. Akki has made an amazing screen pair with some of the existing girls but believe me, he and Ash are extra special,'' director Vipul Shah said about the film.

Neha Dhupia and Randhir Kapoor also star in the movie that has become a very special project for Akshay:

"It's a very special film for me for many reasons. This is my tribute to the 70s that was the greatest retro era. I was kicked with the idea because I'm entering the time in cinema where my father-in-law was a superstar. It is my fifth film with Vipul and definitely another one to remember. Ash and I had a brief romantic interlude in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Khakee, but Action Replayy is our first romantic comedy together. Believe me, I was blushing through the making and there's a lot I wish to tell my audience about but Vipul wants me to keep things under wraps for the moment," Akki told reporters.

Aishwarya Rai refuses Hollywood film offers

The latest buzz revealed that Bollywood stunning and gorgeous beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has refused many promising offers from Hollywood that came her way.

Regarding the offer, the 36-year old actress said, “One of the reasons I declined Troy was that there were some very explicit lovemaking scenes in the script, and a lot of kisses. I was like, 'Oh my God! I'm not sure'. I couldn't imagine being comfortable with it.”

“Michael Douglas came to India and did a press conference where he confessed that he had brought a script my way. And Will Smith was generous enough to be persistent twice over, for 'Hancock' and 'Seven Pounds',” Aishwarya added.

Earlier Hollywood offers
Apart from getting offers from Brett Ratner, Aishwarya has also been offered roles in big flicks such as ‘Wolf Gang’ and ‘Rush Hour’.

Will Smith, the famous actor of Hollywood, had also offered her roles in ‘Hancock’, and ‘Seven Pounds’. But Aish rejected the offers due to busy schedule.

My good time to post all my plans for Bollywood, which you cannot do justice to the project through in Hollywood just now,” he said.

She was a film with the Hollywood actor, on another occasion also offered, but even then, Aishwarya had rejected the offer. The only difference between the two cases is that all this time, they are rejected due to lack of time and other commitments, the last time, it is not part of the project, because the film was much more bold scenes which are not very comfortable with Aishwarya .
brad pitt vs aiswarya raiSpeaking on the topic, said that although she is grateful Aishwarya to all filmmakers in the West who have proposed several plans for her, she now wants to go Hollywood and the film making in indigenous languages only. This is not the first time that Aishwarya was a Hollywood project that supposedly will start against Brad Pitt offered.

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai's upcoming "Action Replayy"

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s upcoming film Action Replayy promises to take the viewers down memory lane.

Following news that one of Akshay’s dance numbers in the film will instantly remind the audience of John Travolta in the 1977 hit Saturday Night Fever, the latest buzz around the film is a special song based on the romance between some of the most popular Bollywood jodis of the 1970s.

A source said, “This is Akshay’s biggest release before Tees Maar Khan and director-producer Vipul Shah wants the film to touch everybody’s heart. The song is a tribute to the leading Bollywood couples of the 1970s and will highlight their romance.

The five couples whom Akshay and Aishwarya will pay a tribute to in the five-minute song will be Amitabh-Jaya, Dharmendra-Hema, Rishi-Neetu, Rajesh-Mumtaz and Shashi-Parveen.”

The song, composed by Pritam, has lyrics which go: Nakhre nakhre nakhre, nakhre hain naatak re, nakhre nakhre nakhre tu peeche hi rakh re. “Since the film has a retro feel, Akshay and Aishwarya will be dressed just like these legendary couples did in their films. The unit is currently planning how to choreograph the song,” added the source.

Vipul Shah confirmed the news and said, “This song, which will be shot in Manali, starts in a playful manner and then goes on to salute the stylish romance that was a trademark of the 1970s.”
