Johnny Depp named highest paid actor

Johnny Depp is the highest paid actor in Hollywood, according to Forbes. The actor earned 50 million pounds, all thanks to his role in Alice in Wonderland. Depp portrayed the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's 3-D version, reports the Telegraph. The Disney film grossed 1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office, making Depp the only actor to headline two 1 billion dollars films, the other being Pirates of the Caribbean.

Depp also landed a big upfront payday estimated at more than 15 million pounds for The Tourist starring alongside Angelina Jolie. Last year, Depp was 10th place on the Forbes annual list of top earning actors with a salary of 18 million pounds.

Johnny DeppBen Stiller came second in the list with 38 million pounds.

I’ll get my snake along for the premiere: Mallika Sherawat

The first time I was at the Cannes Film Festival four years ago, I went as Jackie Chan’s leading lady from The Myth  so it was inevitable that I would get a lot of attention. But this time I had only a snake for company. Still, I caught their eye. The photograph of me with the snake around my neck has made it to the cover of Life magazine. It is among the 60 most iconic pictures shot at Cannes,” exults Mallika Sherawat.

The actor, who is back in Bollywood shooting for Indra Kumar’s Double Dhamaal, promises that the snake will be present at the premiere of Hissss too. “I got Jackie Chan down to India for the first time. Now, I’ll get my reptilian friend, along with my
director Jennifer Lynch. You can’t get more Hollywood than the Lynchs (Jennifer’s father is artist-filmmaker David Lynch),” she promises.

Mallika SherawatSherawat’s first home production is targetting an October release. “We haven’t locked on the dates yet but it should be sometime in the second half of next month,” she says. And though it was an ordeal wearing a scaly body suit for hours –“I couldn’t eat or even drink water,” and have leeches crawling all over her, the actor insists that the effort was worth it.

“The director of photography of Titanic wrote to tell me that he loved what he’d seen of my film at Cannes. That’s great given that we’re not working with a multi-crore Hollywood budget,” she points out.

A hissstory is not uncommon to Hindi cinema, but Sherawat insists that hers is different. “For one, this naagin (snake) doesn’t sing or dance and she swallows her victims whole,” she laughs. “The response at Cannes was fantastic.”

While in Cannes, Sherawat was reportedly shunned by Bollywood beauties, Aishwarya Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, who refused photo-ops with her. But she was rubbing shoulders with Hollywood A-listers like Robert Downey Jr, Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek and even Johnny Depp.

Will she be in the next Pirates movies with Depp? “I’m hoping for that too,” Sherawat laughs. “Actually, we were all just hanging out and partying together at Cannes. Today, thanks to Twitter, everyone knows who’s doing and wearing what.”

True, but while a French poll voted her the Best Dressed Woman at the film festival, stylists back home ripped her apart. “The sensibilities are different, so I don’t take it personally. For me, Cannes was about representing India and Bollywood on foreign soil and I’m glad I made an impression with the stylish French,” she argues. “There will always be Mallika haters, but who cares. They are not laughing their way to the bank or walking the red carpet at Cannes, are they?”

Aishwarya Rai's and Kate Winslet's Longines Commercial

 We showed you the pics of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kate Winslet shooting their Longines commercial in Rome, Italy in July, but what we thought would be an action-filled and dramatic TV ad turned out to be quite a lame clip!

Apart from the bad acting and the poor directing, the clip is also cliché and pretty uninteresting. The Bollywood belle and the Hollywood big shot teamed up to shoot the Longines commercial in Italy, and fans crowded the streets to see the two leading ladies get into action as the cameras started to roll on the streets of Rome.

The B-town royalty and Oscar winning actress sure set the stage for a true Bollywood/Hollywood hook up; both actresses looked stunning as they got ready for their close-ups and judging by the pics from the set, the Longines commercial looked very entertaining! We are not used to seeing Ash in action roles, while British actress Kate Winslet has starred in a few thrillers. And it looks like both Ash and Kate worked up quite a sweat on the set!

 But the final product is rather disappointing. Longines sure knows how to get everyone's head turning as  the international cosmetic brand decided to go for a fusion of two beauties, but unfortunately their on-screen chemistry was not what we thought it would be. What sounded like the Bollywood/Hollywood hook up of the year is just another typical commercial filled with bad acting and unconvincing voiceovers, not to mention the lack of humor and wit.

Maybe the two actresses are so busy with their respective careers that they didn't bother to make an effort for Longines' cameras? Ash can soon be seen in Action Replayy alongside Akshay Kumar, while Kate Winslet, will star in two Hollywood productions; Susanne Bier's romantic flick Which Brings Me to You with Bradley Cooper, as well as Steven Soderbergh's action thriller Contagion with Matt Damon.

First Look at 'Golmaal 3'

Golmaal returns! After the first two successful flicks in the Golmaal series, director Rohit Shetty is back with a threequel! The Hindi comedy that follows the Golmaal Returns that came out in 2008 keeps most of its original cast and adds some new flavor!

The cast started shooting in March in Mumbai, before traveling to Goa to continue filming. Written by Rohit Shetty and Neeraj Vora, the comedy is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dhillin Mehta.

Ajay Devgan stars as Gopal, Kareena Kapoor as Ekta, Arshad Warsi as Madhav, Tusshar Kapoor as Lucky and Shreyas Talpade as Laxman. Other actors include Kunal Khemu, Mithun Chakraborty, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Ratna Pathak , Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma.

Director Rohit Shetty spoke to reporters about the new cast and told the Indian Express, "Yes we have Kunal Khemu, Mithun Chakraborty and Ratna Pathak Shah as new members of the cast. They are all new characters in the plot. Contrary to rumors, Mithun is not playing the character played by Paresh Rawal in the first part. It's a completely new character. Mithun and Ratna Pathak Shah's characters also end up getting married during the course of the film."

The first Golmaal movie told the story of four friends who con people for the money, of course, but also because they enjoy it! Gopal, Lucky, Madhav and Laxman fall in love with the same woman, go on the run because they owe people money and try to hunt down a treasure! Needless to say hilarity ensues and movie goers loved the fun flick so much that they are asking for more!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Turns Down Million Dollar Documentary Deal

Everybody wants the inside scoop on the life of Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. So it made perfect sense when a Hollywood studio offered the former Miss World a million dollar deal to produce a documentary about her life. 

The film would capture her day to day activities by having a crew follow her around for a week. This would be shot in a similar style to the documentary made about the life of the Badshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan. 

While this project would be a great treat for fans, Ash politely declined.  If there is one thing that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is big on it's privacy. And while she will open up on screen, she likes to keep some things to herself.  

So I guess paparazzi shots, exclusive interviews, quotes at press conferences is all we are going to get from shy Ash. But that sure is enough to keep her massive fan base happy!

Demi Moore Bikini Pictures Been Spoofed

Demi Moore asked 19-year-old Dave Days to spoof her bikini pictures, those were posted on Twitter. He has been asked to recreate them on YouTube.

Days said, “So Demi Moore asked me to do a parody... of herself. In her bikini. Yeah. Don’t ask.”

Demi Moore loved the spoofs. She retweeted and complimented him. “I think U wore it better!” she wrote.

Dave Days has become the centre of attraction 3 years ago for spoofing other people and posting those videos on Youtube. He proved his excellence once again

Katie And Tom Shares A Strong Marriage

Katie Holmes feels blessed with her loving husband Tom Cruise. She says that their relationship gets more strong and loving every day. She also revealed that Tom loves to shower her with red roses.

Las Vegas police defends Hilton's quick jail release

Las Vegas police defended Paris Hilton's quick release from jail in half the usual time it takes as avoiding disruptions in the jail's operations, according to media report on Tuesday.

After Paris Hilton was arrested in Sin City last week for alleged cocaine possession, questions arose as to how she was able to get in and out of Clark County Detention Center in just three hours when the usual charge process takes about six.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon, who runs the jail, acknowledged Hilton was pushed through the booking process to get her into a separate room and out of the jail as soon as possible.

"Yeah, she was treated differently so I don't have a disruption of my process here at the county jail," Dixon told the Review-Journal.

"When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I'd have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I'd have disruptions," Dixon was quoted by AP as saying.

Hilton, 29, was arrested on Aug. 27 for alleged cocaine possession after the authorities said she opened a purse in front of a police lieutenant and a small baggie of cocaine fell out.

Hilton claims neither the purse nor the cocaine was hers.

Hilton is to appear in court on the possession charge next month.
