Hollywood movie BROKEN HORSES by Bollywood film-maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Film fare Award winner Vidhu Vinod Chopra is reportedly commuting between Mumbai (India) and Beverly Hills (California, USA) for making his debut English venture “Broken Horses”.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is apparently leasing a large house in Beverly Hills, which is currently his second home because he is spending about half of his time here. After his success in India, Chopra apparently wants to reach larger audiences.

Action-drama “Broken Horses”, story of two brothers—one New York fiddler and another a hired gun—has blood, horses, gore, guns, gangsters, drug war, and bullets. Expected to be released later this year, it will be shot in USA in New Mexico and New York and near the USA-Mexico border.

Produced by Oscar winner Mark Johnson (Rain Man); and written by Chopra, National Award winner Abhijit Joshi (Lage Raho Munna Bhai) and Jason Richman (Swing Vote); it stars Oscar nominated Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). Writing part of the film has reportedly been completed.

Wishing Chopra all the best in Hollywood, Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that this increasing talent exchange between Bollywood and Hollywood might bring East and West closer. Cinema was a powerful medium, and if used appropriately, it could bring positive changes in the world, Zed, who is chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Confederation, added.

Chopra has been reportedly quoted as saying: “Good films don't happen, you have to make them.” He reportedly wants to sponsor writing screenplays of 100 greatest movies of India and launch a film school for children.

Ben Kingsley has a important role in "Teen Patti" with Amitabh Bachchan

Filmmaker Leena Yadav is laughing by rumors that Hollywood actor Ben Kinsley plays only a cameo in her upcoming film 'Teen Patti'. The director says Kingsley has a substantial role and is present throughout the movie.

"Sir Ben is playing the role of a great mathematician named Perci Trachtenberg in 'Teen Patti'. He has this whole graph with Mr Bachchan in the film and there is a lot of emotion involved," Yadav said.

"I don't quite understand the concept of cameos and guest appearances. Sometimes a great actor can come and do something so spectacular even in a two minute role.

If the character is strong, it can just bring a complete turnaround in the proceedings in the shortest duration possible. One has to look at the impact that an actor creates," said Yadav, who has earlier made 'Shabd' with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt.

Like Aamir Khan, who was the first actor to take 3 Idiots to the audiences who resides in the smaller cities and towns of the country, Farhan too feels there is a need to reach out to people away from the big metros. So the lead pair of along with co-producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Amit Chandra will travel to Ahmedabad, Surat, Delhi, Chandigarh and Jaipur in a private jet for two days to promote the film there.

An insider reveals, "A private jet has been hired for two days at a cost of around Rs 50 lakh. It's huge expense but the producers feel it's worth the cost as big brands want to sponsor the events."Ritesh confirms, "We will be promoting KCK in different multiplexes across these five cities as we can't oblige all. We wouldn't have been able to cover so many cities if we had travelled by regular commercial airlines and that's why we decided to hire a jet.

It's hectic and expensive but part of the promotional strategy. It's not the money but the mileage you get. You get to interact with your fans on a closer level. It will be just the six of us travelling -- Farhan, Deepika, the director Vijay Lalwani, our public relations officer, Devika from the marketing team and me."
