Uma Thurman calls off engagement

The report quoted a friend of the couple as saying that they split last November. The couple began dating in the summer of 2007 and announced the engagement a year later. The magazine said that Busson was "beside himself" that they weren't able to work things out.

In September, Thurman, 39, admitted she wasn't planning to marry Busson anytime soon. "I'm happily engaged but we haven't set a wedding up," she told W magazine. "I'm not in a rush to do anything. One day we'll do it, when we're ready."

Thurman, who is now engaged to millionaire businessman Arpad Busson, says she still loves Hawke, who she divorced in 2004.

"I love the man still, I really do. Hey, we have two kids together. That's very special. I'll always love him," she said.
