Lady Gaga designs charity bracelet to raise money for Japanese tsunami victims

She raised more than half a million dollars for those affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti by donating one day's worth of merchandise and concert ticket sales.
But this time, Lady Gaga is urging her fans to dig deep to raise money for the victims of the Japanese tsunami.
In light of yesterday's catastrophic events, the singer has designed a special charity bracelet and has asked her fans to spend just $5 (£3) on the white rubber prayer band.
A post on her website and Twitter page today said all proceeds from the band - which will be available from March 25 - will go to the Japan tsunami relief fund.
The bracelet has 'We Pray For Japan' written in both English and Japanese as well as an image of her 'monster claw', a symbol her fans use to show their love for the singer.
Gaga is a huge fan of the country and is inspired by its art and fashion and her stylist Nicola Formichetti is half-Japanese.
Although she is the only celebrity to instigate a way of raising money for the victims so far, many have been taking to their Twitter pages to offer their thoughts and condolences.
Justin Bieber wrote: 'Japan is one of my favorite places on earth...it's an incredible culture with amazing people. My prayers go out to them. We all need to help.'
Kim Kardashian put: 'Seeing all of this footage in Japan is devastating! Please help the people of Japan by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.'
And Glee's Lea Michele added: ' So devastating to hear about the huge earthquake & tsunami Japan. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone there.'

Watch Lady Gaga’s Passionate “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Speech

Lady Gaga, dressed like a 70s-era Gloria Steinem mixed in with a bit of Elle Woods, gave a passionate speech at a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” rally in Portland, Maine that was live-streamed on the Internet. The pop star, whose outlandish VMA outfit (as well as her dates) was inspired by her feelings towards DADT, proposed a new law called “If You Don’t Like It, Go Home—a law that discharges… the homophobic soldier that has the real negative effect on unit cohesion.” Jump below to watch video of her moving speech, which she titles, “The Prime Rib of America.”

Her speech is a bit rambling and long, clocking in around 18-minutes (with various meat metaphors that don’t exactly work), but regardless, her dedication to this issue is truly commendable. Gaga has previously discussed her protest of DADT during her interview with Larry King, post-VMAs on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as well as in recent video she uploaded on her website. Even her next album title (and tattoo), Born This Way, is a reflection of her feelings towards the anti-gay policy.

The pop star recently had Senate leader Harry Reid respond to her tweets against DADT, and now she’s gotten the attention of Senator John McCain. “I welcome her in the debate, I welcome all of her young fans into the debate,” McCain said today at the Reuters Washington Summit. “It’s good to have lots of people involved.”

But he won’t be responding to her impassioned cries for equality via Twitter. “I only Twitter with Snooki,” McCain sad.

Lady Gaga's Phone Fear

Lady Gaga is reportedly so terrified of the radiation emitted from mobile phones, she insists someone holds her communications device away from her head when she has to make a call.

Lady Gaga is scared of mobile phones.

The'Telephone' hitmaker is reportedly terrified of getting a brain tumour from using a portable device and now insists a member of her entourage holds her phone a short distance away from her whenever she has to make a call.

A source said: "There have been various reports suggesting mobile phone use can increase your risk of developing cancer and brain tumours and even though there's no firm evidence, it really freaked her out.

"She's now insisting that whenever she makes a call, one of her team keys the numbers into her phone, then holds it up to her face so when she speaks it isn't too close to her head.

"She then listens to her calls on the speakerphone."

According to the insider, the request is the latest in a series of bizarre demands from the eccentric singer.

She is also said to ask members of her security team to carry her to various events because she has only designated a certain amount of time each day to walking.

The source added: "Everyone around Gaga tries to tolerate her annoying and weird behaviour because they know it's likely to be just another phase."

British pop star Lady Gaga Lady says she suffers from "chronic sadness".

The singer said she struggles to cope with homesickness while on the road for tours, but has now learned to accept her "darkness".
