EastEnders star Jo Joyner strips off for her new BBC comedy show Candy Cabs

We're not sure that it's something that Tanya Branning would approve of.

So it's just as well that Jo Joyner was hundreds of miles away from Albert Square when she decided to get her kit off.

The actress, who plays the long-suffering beautician in EastEnders, is starring in a new comedy that starts tonight on BBC One.

Jo, 33, stars as Jackie O'Sullivan, the boss of an all-female mini taxi company called Candy Cabs.

And in these scenes, which air tonight on the first episode at 9pm, O'Sullivan and her employees strip off for their weekly weigh-in, much to her business partner's disgust.

Set in the north of England, Candy Cabs tells the story fo O'Sullivan and Elaine Partridge, played by Lisa Millett, who open a can company for women, run by women

In these scenes, Stella, played by former Bread star Melanie Hill, lines up the female employees - Amanda, played by Claire Sweeney, Sally-Anne, played by Danielle Henry, Big Pam, played by Lu Corfield and Diane, played by Jodie Prenger - for their weekly Fat Club weigh-in.

The three part series starts tonight on BBC One, and also stars Paul Nicholls, Denis Lawson and John Henshaw.

Paul Kaye and Ricky Whittle also make up the boys among the all-female cast.

Jo filmed the series while on maternity leave from EastEnders last year and said that although she loves playing Tanya Branning, filming Candy Cabs was a breath of fresh air.

Speaking to the  Radio Times, she said: 'It was lovely playing someone who wasn't constantly crying or doing "the Walford sigh".

'Going up north with a wonderful group of women was so much fun - as was working on something that is easy to watch for a change.'

Corrie gears up for double wedding - and Gail can't believe what one bride is wearing

The old saying goes that the course of true love never did run smooth - and never more is the epithet more pertinent than in soap operas.

So Coronation Street fans have been girding their loins for some time with the news that there was to be a double wedding - and just as feared, it doesn't seem that anything is going to go to plan.

However, while not-so-blushing bride-to-be Kylie Turner does her best 'will she, won't she' act before finally turning up late at the wedding, it appears it's her choice of outfit rather than her tardiness that shocks mother of the groom Gail McIntyre.

Badboy David Platt spends ages on the phone trying to locate his bride-to-be while other couple Graeme and Xin wait patiently.

Meanwhile, Graeme is having serious doubts about the whole thing. Will he go through with marrying Xin so she can stay in the country?

Conniving Kylie eventually turns up for the ceremony and shocks the congregation by looking for all the world like a burlesque artist in a a red and black basque.

Whether or not the cage-dancer and badboy David Platt actually make it to the altar however is anyone's guess...

After all, is Kylie there to go through with the wedding, or to tell David about his mother's bribery scheme?

As the pressure mounts, Graeme and Xin wait nervously.

However, as they wait for the service to start, Tina tries to explain to Norris why he saw her and Graeme kissing...

Essex girl Sam Faiers 'covers up' in a skimpy number

Even by TOWIE's standards, Sam Faiers' 'fancy dress' bikini left little to the imagination at Sunday night's party to celebrate the birthday of Harry Derbidge.

And fresh from her appearance dressed as Bond girl Honey Ryder - played by Ursula Andress in the 1962 film Dr No - Sam stepped out yesterday in yet another eye-popping outfit. But at least this time she was wearing more clothes.

Perhaps keen to show off a more demure and 'business-like' image as she stepped outside her boutique Minnies, the 20-year-old glamour model posed for waiting photographers in a skimpy nude dress which clung to her assets for dear life as light winds threatened to reveal even more of the Essex girl.

Despite efforts to look as though waiting photographers had caught her off-guard, there was something distinctly staged about Sam's moment on camera.

It was nude overload as Sam teamed the dress with a beige mac, cream knee-socks with brown stilettos as she met with sister Billie for a coffee.

Since the 20-year-old glamour model was dumped on air by TOWIE playboy Mark Wright so he could 'make a go of things' with his ex Lauren Goodger, Sam has seemingly bounced back from her broken heart.

Seen out on the town with a string of handsome suitors, Sam seems to have forgotten all about the Essex charmer.

At Sunday night's party, Sam and TOWIE co-star Amy Childs - who was dressed as iconic cartoon character Jessica Rabbit - stole the limelight in their jaw-dropping outfits.

The only person who came close to upstaging them was birthday boy Derbidge, who came dressed as his Lady Gaga. The three made their entrance in a pink limousine.

While the party was a good night for most, it was also the scene of a bust-up between Lydia Bright and boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent.

According to reports yesterday, the pair - who have just moved in together with their pet pig Mr Darcy - decided to 'take some time apart' following the row.
