At 56, she has the slim, athletic figure of a woman half her age.

So perhaps this goes some way to explaining why Carole Middleton has started to dress like her children.

Prince William’s future mother-in-law and her younger daughter Pippa, 27, wore almost identical outfits as they ventured out for a shopping trip in Chelsea.

Both women sported smart navy jackets over casual above-the-knee blue and white patterned skirts.

While Pippa opted for a belted trench coat from Marks & Spencer, her mother wore a smart blazer thought to be from upmarket High Street label Joseph, teaming it with a Nicole Farhi skirt and Jaeger bag.

Their ensembles were completed with  flat black boots – a buckled biker-style  that stopped just below the knee for Mrs Middleton, and a ruched pair from LK Bennett for her daughter, similar to the ones favoured by 29-year-old Kate.

While it is clear where the Middleton girls get their athletic physiques from, onlookers questioned whether Mrs Middleton’s outfit was a little too youthful and might have been more appropriate with a pair of low-heeled court shoes.

The mother of the bride also looked slightly drawn, which could be down to  the strain of wedding preparations or her conversion to the controversial Dukan Diet, based on high-protein foods such as cottage cheese and prawns.

Mrs Middleton and Pippa have been indulging in an increasing amount of  retail therapy as the April 29 wedding draws closer.

On Monday they spent several hours browsing high-end designer stores, including Jimmy Choo and Prada.

Pippa, who will be Kate’s chief bridesmaid, also visited the flower stand on Fulham Road once frequented by the Princess  of Wales.

Coleen Rooney looks svelte in a yellow and white bikini on the beach in Barbados

While Wayne Rooney works up a sweat on the field earning his £250,000 a week, someone has to enjoy all that cash.

While the Manchester United star was busy beating Bolton 1-0 over the weekend, his wife Coleen was basking in the sun in Barbados.

Coleen, who will turn 25 in a fortnight, celebrated with a pre-birthday break at the couple's £5 million holiday home in the Caribbean.

The Littlewoods designer wore a chic yellow and white striped bikini to play on the sand with one-year-old son Kai.

Coleen looked toned and trim in her swimsuit and scraped her hair back in a ponytail and sunglasses.

The Rooneys' area on the sand was littered with Kai's inflatable beach toys and sand buckets.

While his family enjoyed the sun and surf, Wayne, 25, was hard at work earning the millions of pounds that keep them in their luxurious lifestyle.

Wayne helped his team claim victory over Bolton 1-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Coleen and Wayne visit their Barbados home often, since completing building on the palatial property at the beginning of 2010.

The six bedroom villa comes with an infinity pool and breathtaking sea views from the bedroom, and the living room areas.

The house is situated on the island's 500-acre Royal Westmoreland development and is already home to some familiar celebrity faces.

Ex-boxing champion Joe Calzaghe, Wayne's team-mate Rio Ferdinand, Gary Lineker, cricketer Freddie Flintoff, and TV hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly all already own homes there.

Stephanie Seymour abandons her bikini top on St Barts break

After days relaxing in the St Barts, Stephanie Seymour attempted to banish those troublesome tan lines during a sun-baking session yesterday.

The former supermodel, who is in the Caribbean with her family, did away with her bikini top as she soaked up the rays on a pool lounge.

The 42-year-old frolicked around in chocolate brown bikini bottoms and not much else, but at one point she did grab hold of a red T-shirt of clothing to cover up her chest.

For days she has been slipping into an array of bikinis to spend time with her family as they holiday on the French island.

The same day as her topless tanning session, Stephanie also sizzled on the sand in a florescent lime green bikini that equally flaunted her killer curves.

The former Victoria's Secret model confidently strode out of the water to reveal the flattering two-piece.

She also had her husband Peter Brand entranced, with the billionaire barely unable to keep his hands nor his lips off his wife of 15 years.

The couple embraced in a lingering kiss in the warm waters of the Atlantic ocean.

Later as they left the beach, the 63-year-old followed his wife closely as she covered up in a tiny floral sarong.

Peter is renting one the most expensive houses on the island known as The Dune.

It costs 20,000 Euros ($28, 000) a day and hosted many star-studded parties over the recent New Year period.

And while Stephanie and her husband were enjoying some alone time yesterday, they have mostly been spending time with their children, Harry 13 and Lily, 6.

The doting mother and father have been spotted numerous time tending to the two kids as they continued their extended holiday.

Last week Stephanie also caught up with friend and fellow beach-goer Yves Saint Laurent designer Stefano Pilati, who was enjoying a spot of nude-bathing nearby.

The fashionista wrapped himself up quickly for his encounter with the former model and her children.

Stephanie has been spending a lot of time in St Barts since being spotted in the arms of her paper magnate husband on the French island in December.

It was a big turnaround after early last year when the couple were in the throes of one of the ugliest celebrity divorce battles.

They revealed in September that they were calling off their acrimonious divorce despite already spending millions each on legal fees and had got back together.

They first announced their split in March 2009 and embarked on a bitter battle rife with allegations of infidelity, drug abuse and wild spending sprees and embroiled their children in the process.

Police were called to the couple's home following Seymour's complaint that Brant's security assaulted her, Brant accused the model of drug use and was seeking sole custody of their three children.
