The Mexican-born star, 44, is in Cartagena filming La Chispa de la Vida or The Spark of Life with Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia.
Wearing a black coat, a black hat, a scarf, boots and gloves, a make-up free Salma took a break today to spend time with her family.
With three-year-old Valentina by her side, and her mother Diana joining them, the bundled up trio walked around at marvelled at the sights.
For a while it seemed Salma had put her acting career on hold after she married French millionaire Francois-Henri Pinault.
But now she is back in full work mode.
The Frida star currently has four movies in production, including The Driver, a thriller which she will be shooting later this year in India.
The Hollywood actress will co-star with Bollywood star Bulshan Grover.
The former Ugly Betty actress and producer married Pinault in a Valentine's Day ceremony in Paris in 2009 and they had a second, even lavish wedding ceremony two months later in Venice.
It followed a roller coaster romance, which saw the pair break off their engagement in July 2008 - 10 months after Salma gave birth to Valentina in Los Angeles.
However, the couple are back on track and last month enjoyed a romantic break in the Caribbean island of St Barts.
