Carrie Underwood has finally said her "I Do" to her NHL fiance Mike Fisher. On Saturday, July 10, the "Undo It" singer exchanged wedding vows with the Ottawa Senators center in a ceremony attended by 250 friends and family and held at a luxury resort, the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia.
In a statement sent to People magazine, the 27-year-old and her new husband said they are "blessed". Signed with the names of "Mike & Carrie Fisher," the statement from the newlyweds read, "We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!"
It was reported that the "Cowboy Casanova" hitmaker looked pretty in a chantilly lace dress created for her by Monique Lhuillier for the nuptials that featured classical music and the couple's favorite Bible readings. Security was tight, and among the friends joining her on her big day were the three original "American Idol" judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
Aside from those three TV judges, a number of country stars also came for the wedding. They included Garth Brooks as well as Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw. Mike's fellow Ottawa Senators players were invited to the wedding as well. Team mates, Chris Neil and Chris Phillips, were among them.
Carrie and Mike reportedly spent their wedding night in the Ritz's 5,400-square-foot Presidential House. The couple are, according to previous report, headed to Tahiti and Bora Bora for their honeymoon. They reportedly treated their guests to a lavish fireworks display on the eve of their wedding day at the resort.
Carrie began dating Mike after she split from "Gossip Girl" hunk Chace Crawford in March 2008. The country crooner and the Ottawa Senators star announced their engagement in December 2009. "It's true. We're both obviously excited and very happy," Mike said when confirming the news back then.
